  • Hello

Welcome to my world, friends. I have much to show you from my adventures as a creative. Feel free to browse!

This local Chicago gourmet Indian food company needed some freelance collateral work for their home page. I created three slides and three sub-navigation call to action boxes. The yellow and turquoise slides feature my own studio photography. I took a close-up photo of the lentils and rice right before cooking this delicious food for the first time.

This Skokie based company mainly prints custom and colorful letterpress foil stamp napkins for special events. During my stay during the busy season, I had a chance to work on interactive seasonal eblasts and invitation concepts for their developing design operation. It was a fun time exploring more vector illustration, conceptual typography and pattern design. This is an old fashioned lever on one of the several complex letterpress machines in the factory.

Koenig & Strey Real Living is a real estate broker that I had a chance to work for in their downtown Gold Coast office. Along with the daily task of creating layouts for the promotion of luxury property for sale, I also had fun creating seasonal e-cards and postcards. Pictured here is the southern 17th floor office view of bustling North Michigan Avenue.

  • Decor Galor

Decor Galor was a small Northbrook based design studio with big visions. Joey T, before retiring, was the king of striking yet affordable custom event design and he always will be. Promoting and creating art for theme based custom event decorations involved graphic design, large format printing, photography, hands-on craftsmanship and learning the intricacies of what is really going on behind the production of a truly memorable event. I arranged, lit and photographed these lovely pink curtains for a client meeting.

  • Personal Design

I love design so much that I've created personal projects over time. The best thing about personal graphic design is that it makes a very lucid statement about who I am and how I relate to the world. Even this warm passion fruit purple zig zag texture is symbolic for positive upward waves of potential.

What started as experimental costume studio sessions with my green screen, later became a rich body of expressive conceptual artwork. The results feature my efforts in several technical areas, such as art direction, advanced layering techniques in Photoshop, studio and street photography, costume and makeup design, symbolism and storytelling. Because of the wonderful feedback I have received from my posts on social media, I ended up creating an online shop with my favorite work.

Since I can remember, I have always loved photography. It remains an ongoing integrated part of my lifestyle. I always travel with a camera, knowing there might be that right moment when everything lines up just so. Lately, I have had a great time playing with different techniques to process my photos. In a strange, backwards kind of way, I take it as a nice compliment when someone says, "Hey, did you take that picture with Instagram?" No, but I'd be thrilled to show you how I did it!

  • Paintings

This is a collection of my favorite recent paintings. I usually paint acrylic on wood panel, often incorporating some collage work and always finishing it off with a few coats of varnish. When I paint, I aim for a total free flow of imagination, while themes and symbolism naturally surface. Pictured here is a detail of "Primordial Lagoon."
